Even the Trees Weep is a dramatization of various people’s account in reaction to gun violence on school campus in the United States.

Even the Trees Weep is supported by the Graduate Music Award of the Presser Foundation. The premiere performance was given on January 17th, 2025, at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

The piece was developed in close collaboration with tenor Kellan Dunlap and pianist Lyndsi Maus.
